Absolutely Bonkers! Undeath, ALBUM REVIEW 2024

If you haven’t heard the name Undeath yet, holy shit, are you missing out. That’s okay though, because with their third album “More Insane” that just released THIS MONTH, there’s never a better time to become acquainted. Let’s dive the fuck in!

I wanted to start with the music video for the title track on the album, because Undeath’s music videos are a damn treat. The song, thankfully, is also a treat. Undeath reminds me a lot of early Lamb of God with this track. It’s a perfect track to introduce the album, because it has all of the things you love. The drumming is unreal, and I love the poor video quality of them in a cemetery. It feels so old school, it’s great.

Now onto to the album, with track one, “Dead From Beyond”. Did I mention Undeath is a band to bang your fucking head to? Yeah, this one will hurt your neck so be careful. Hearing this, I’m excited as hell to hear the rest if they’re anything like what I’ve already heard. Alexander Jones on vocals is fucking talented as shit. Dude has such an impressive range and stamina. Listen to this track all the way through for the solo by the way. It’s a tasty one for you. Also, to tie it off, the riff is sweet.

Skipping “More Insane” puts us at “Brandish the Blade”. This one feels like some straight thrash. It’s fast and punchy with Matt Browning really showing off his drum chops. The mid-song breakdown is gnarly. Again, this one really screams old Lamb of God to me and I am into it hard. Another solo at the end too, but it’s got some hard power metal vibes on it.

“Disputatious Malignancy” is next, which means “wanting to cause heated arguments” and “tumor”, and yeah, I can put those together. The song is fun, and more of what you’ll hear on the album. I think here is where I begin to repeat things like “heavy” and “good as fuck”, so I’ll let you listen to the rest of the album from here for yourself. I’ll say the solo on this one is definitely the shreddiest one in my opinion. Therefore, it’s probably my favorite. Is it seriously?

“More Insane” released on all platforms on October 4, 2024!
